Markus Frohnmaier, a lawmaker from Germany’s Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, has called on Chancellor Friedrich Merz and his party to take part in elections in Ukraine.
Globalinfo.az reports that the lawmaker, criticising rising energy costs in Germany, said the ruling Christian Democratic Union (CDU) is not paying attention to the problems of the country’s citizens.
Frohnmaier noted that because of high costs, many German households are refraining from turning on their heating.
Recall that in Germany the issue of supplying Taurus missiles to Ukraine has also sparked political debate.
AfD lawmaker Steffen Kotre said the government keeps information about arms supplies secret and that this possibility is not ruled out.
