Several C-17 Globemaster III heavy military transport aircraft belonging to the U.S. military have landed in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Globalinfo.az reports that the movement has increased speculation that Washington is strengthening its military presence in the Middle East.
According to the information, the aircraft in question are used to transport personnel, heavy military equipment and cargo of various kinds. Reports about the flights circulated on Nov. 6.
These military transports come amid the deployment to the region of units of the U.S. Army’s 82nd Airborne Division. Some of the division’s forces are already serving in the Middle East, and their deployment in the region has reportedly been extended.
The arrival of the military aircraft in the UAE has raised the prospect that the United States is expanding its logistical and military capabilities in the region.
