“Artificial intelligence will continue to develop, but in the near future its integration into physical objects will also become increasingly widespread.”
Globalinfo.az reports that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made the statement.
“At the next stage, such a process will inevitably take place: artificial intelligence will increasingly be embedded in objects. This means that while we currently communicate with artificial intelligence in a virtual space, the next generation will interact with it in a real environment.
In other words, we are currently in contact with it, but we have no idea who is on the other side. In the future, there will be a robot before us with a specific appearance, form and body, as well as arms and legs suited to its functions. Science is currently working to realise this transformation and such an encounter,” he said.
It should be noted that the Armenian government has approved the Physical Artificial Intelligence Programme. The programme aims to build internationally competitive research and educational capacity at the intersection of robotics and artificial intelligence at Yerevan State University, the National Polytechnic University of Armenia and the American University of Armenia. The programme is expected to attract at least $14 million in investment over 7 years. Half of the funds will be provided by the state and the other half by the private sector.
