A passenger plane belonging to Poland’s LOT airline, flying the Warsaw–Brussels route, made a safe landing in Belgium after a warning of a bomb threat.

Globalinfo.az reports that the VRT television channel spread the information, citing the press service of Brussels airport.

The situation was brought under control promptly during the incident. Nevertheless, law enforcement agencies are investigating whether the incident is linked to similar threats recorded at various European airports in recent days.

One of the similar incidents occurred in Romania. The crew of a “Wizz Air” plane that landed at Bucharest airport informed the relevant authorities of a possible bomb threat.

In Bulgaria, three passenger planes had to change course and make emergency landings because of threat alerts. According to BHT television, two of the planes landed at Vasil Levski airport in Sofia, and the other at Plovdiv airport.

In addition, one of the flights operated by Denmark’s Jettime charter company on order for “Finnair” also received a warning of a bomb threat. The plane landed safely at Vienna airport.

According to foreign media, a total of 12 warnings of bomb and explosive threats against aircraft have been recorded in Europe so far.
