“The talks held in Brussels on Ukraine’s post-war reconstruction did not take place in a single general meeting format, but in the form of separate discussions.”
Globalinfo.az reports that the Rapporteur portal published this information with reference to a European Commission representative.
The talks were held on Wednesday at the European Commission’s Berlaymont headquarters.
The meetings were attended by representatives of Ukraine, the United States, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, as well as representatives of NATO and the World Bank:
“The European Commission was represented by Bjorn Seibert, head of Ursula von der Leyen’s cabinet, and Ukraine by chief negotiator Rustem Umerov. Other delegations were represented at the level of security advisers, while the United States joined the talks remotely.”
The Ukrainian representative said the agenda includes a “prosperity plan” covering post-war reconstruction, economic development and long-term resilience.
A second stage of the talks is planned for Thursday at NATO headquarters.
At this stage, security guarantees for Kyiv will be discussed.
Representatives of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and NATO are expected to attend.
Note that the United States previously discussed Ukraine’s future and Europe’s security with NATO.
