Armenian Security Council Secretary Alen Simonyan was asked a question about Turks.
Globalinfo.az reports that he spoke during a discussion titled “Peace and Security: Changing Realities in the Region” held as part of the “World Armenian Summit 2026”.
During the discussion, one participant said: “Our government should set itself the goal of becoming stronger. If the Turks see that we are strong, they will not attack.”
Alen Simonyan responded:
“We must build an army such that attacking Armenia would have serious consequences for the other side and would deter it from taking such a step. I believe that, in general, there should be no reason for war. If they want to attack, we will not have time to become stronger; we will not have time to do anything.”
