Details have emerged of the testimony that Arif Sefa Özdemir, suspected of killing 8 people in Turkey’s Afyonkarahisar province and detained in Eskişehir, gave to the gendarmerie.
Globalinfo.az reports that Turkish media published the information.
It was reported that the suspect confessed to the crimes he committed and recounted in sequence how the events unfolded.
In his testimony, Özdemir said he had decided in advance to kill his first three victims and took them to a rural area, where he killed them. He later attacked people whose cars he wanted to seize in order to flee the scene.
One of the notable points in the testimony concerns the killing of two female teachers. According to the suspect, he counted down from 10 before opening fire on the teachers.
It also emerged that while on the run, Özdemir presented himself as a member of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) and tried to obtain weapons from village heads.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
