“The United States is working with its partners on a new security architecture aimed at ensuring long-term security and stability in Europe”
Globalinfo.az reports that Jared Kushner, the US president’s special representative and Donald Trump’s son-in-law, said this.
According to him, the approach under development covers five main areas:
1. Holding regular consultations on security issues;
2. Establishing reliable communication channels in crisis situations;
3. Increasing transparency in military activities;
4. Taking reciprocal measures to reduce the risk of escalating tensions;
5. Creating a sustainable framework for Europe’s long-term security and stability.
Kushner stressed that no state would have the right to veto another country’s sovereign choices. He also said that NATO would retain its key role in Europe’s collective defence system.
Ukraine, NATO, the European Union and other European partners are expected to be involved in consultations on developing the new security model.
