“On the sixth anniversary of the historic Victory won in the 44-day Patriotic War, it becomes ever clearer that Victory Day is not simply a holiday that has entered the calendar sequence of Azerbaijan’s modern statehood history, but a symbol of national consciousness, geopolitical reality and the full attainment of legal sovereignty, which not only preserves its grandeur but increases its historic significance with each passing day. This Victory, which does not lose its importance with the passage of time, is a unique turning point demonstrating how deeply the national will, the military-strategic planning and the iron logic standing behind it were elaborated as the years go by.”

The MP said that the architect and main driving force of this grand historic turn is the multifaceted strategic leadership of President, Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev:
“The legal and diplomatic groundwork shaped in international arenas over decades, the offensive diplomacy conducted in the information struggle and the modern army building based on fifth-generation combat tactics are precisely the result of the head of state’s unshakable political will. It is clear that the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, who directly led the combat operations for 44 days and signed a unique Victory such as the liberation of Shusha, has engraved his name in history as a victorious commander. The brightest indicator of this leadership phenomenon and of his greatness as a statesman is Mr. Ilham Aliyev’s transformation of this grand victory into the common spiritual elevation of the people. The Supreme Commander-in-Chief, who eliminated the thirty-year complex of defeat, made every Azerbaijani a sharer in the honor of the victory, turning our martyrs, our veterans and every ordinary citizen standing behind the front line into equal parties to this Victory and granting our people the eternal identity of a ‘Victorious Nation’.

The MP noted that on the political and legal plane this victory radically changed the balance of power that had formed in the South Caucasus over the past two centuries, turning official Baku into the main actor that sets the region‘s conditions:
“Azerbaijan, smashing ineffective ‘status quo’ formats, itself implemented the paper-bound resolutions of the UN Security Council within the framework of the right to self-defense and restored the primacy of international law. With the successful anti-terror measures of September 2023, this legal framework was fully completed and the constitutional order was established throughout the country. This Victory did not end with merely putting an end to the occupation; it created the ground for the formation of new logistics routes such as the ‘Middle Corridor’ and of a new transport and energy map across the entire Eurasian space, turning Baku into an independent power center that demands equal partnership.
The decisive factor ensuring the sustainability of the Victory and its strategic continuation in the post-conflict period is the Great Construction and Restoration process carried out in Karabakh and East Zangezur. The Victory won on the military plane is further consolidated on the civil and geopolitical plane through modern infrastructure projects, smart city and village concepts, international airports and the dignified return of our compatriots to their native lands within the framework of the ‘Great Return’ program. The unshakable People-Army-Leader unity established around the ideology ‘Karabakh is Azerbaijan!’ and the rapid reintegration of our lands and resources liberated from occupation into the national economy serve as the eternal guarantee of Azerbaijan’s independence, security and geopolitical power.”
