A new coronavirus strain, PJ.2.1, is spreading. Its symptoms may resemble those of a cold or flu.
Globalinfo.az reports that the World Health Organization (WHO) has released information on this.
“It is impossible to determine exactly which respiratory virus caused the infection based on symptoms alone,” the organisation’s experts noted.
The WHO stressed the importance of testing to determine the cause of the illness.
Earlier, virologist Yelena Malinnikova told the agency that strain PJ.2.1, unlike other coronavirus variants, may be accompanied by a more severe sore throat and prolonged fatigue after the illness.
