Israel Elections 17136 1

“The upcoming parliamentary elections in Israel are in the global spotlight.”

Political analyst Javanshir Abbasli said this in a statement to Globalinfo.az.

The political analyst noted that these elections will be a serious political test for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:

“Pre-election opinion polls indicate that his political camp could face challenges in maintaining its parliamentary standing and forming a government. Even if Netanyahu achieves a favorable result, it remains questionable whether he will secure enough mandates to form a government independently.

In any case, we must wait for the final results. An electoral process is a political mechanism where unexpected outcomes and surprises can emerge right up until the last moment. The political situation in Israel is no exception. Nevertheless, regardless of the election results, the balance of power in parliament and the political partners chosen to form the government will remain key issues.

The positions of political forces opposing Netanyahu and the outcome of coalition talks will directly influence the country’s future political course. Therefore, the complete picture will become clear only after the election results are announced and the real capabilities of the political forces are established. In my view, even if Netanyahu secures an advantage, it will amount to nothing more than a ‘Pyrrhic victory.'”
