World-famous chip brand Pringles has launched an unusual campaign to mark Halloween. The company plans to give one person a special urn shaped like the brand’s iconic can and a 200-year supply of chips.
Globalinfo.az reports that the company said this in an official statement.
Under the campaign, titled “Once You Drop”, participants sign a digital “will”, making a symbolic commitment to have their cremated ashes stored in a container resembling a Pringles can after their death. The campaign winner will receive a special urn made of precious metal, with a removable lid and personalised engraving. The prize also includes a supply of chips intended to last 200 years.
The campaign was inspired by the story of Fredrik Bauer, who designed the Pringles can. After his death in 2008, part of his ashes was buried in a Pringles can, in line with his wishes.
Only people aged 18 and over who live in the 50 US states and the District of Columbia can take part in the contest. According to the company’s announcement, applications close on October 22, and the winner is expected to be notified around October 31.
