“Ukraine has not received military aid from Italy since December 2025.”
Globalinfo.az reports that La Repubblica newspaper wrote this.
According to the publication, the 13th aid package is fully ready, but its delivery has been postponed for the third time.
Delays in supplies also occurred earlier in July and September.
The newspaper links the delay to two factors:
“The first reason is the domestic political crisis. In particular, the League party, which is part of Italy’s ruling coalition, is taking an increasingly tough stance against arms supplies to Ukraine. The second factor is that Italy is waiting for the results of the midterm elections to the US Congress. Rome says it will continue to provide comprehensive support to Kyiv. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani, as well as Defence Minister Guido Crosetto, say Italy will continue its ‘360-degree’ support for Ukraine.”
However, as the newspaper notes, in practice this support is increasingly limited to civilian-use equipment, such as generators.
Earlier, Crosetto said that most Italian citizens oppose support for Ukraine. Nevertheless, he stressed that the country’s authorities continue to assist Kyiv.
