The victory of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Brazil’s presidential election was a major success for Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Globalinfo.az reports that Gunther Fehlinger, chairman of the Austrian non-governmental organisation European NATO Enlargement Committee, wrote this on his account on the social network X.

“Putin won again in Brazil,” he said.

According to the election commission, Lula da Silva became the first candidate in Brazil to win a presidential election after losing in the first round.

It should be recalled that in the first round, Flavio Bolsonaro, the son of the former head of state, received more votes than the incumbent president. After 99.99 percent of ballots were counted, it was announced that he had received 47.04 percent of the vote, compared with 45.15 percent for his rival.
