As if unnoticed by our public, events unfolded accompanied by a rapid change in Pashinyan’s statements about the possible dates for holding a referendum on changing the Constitution in Armenia.
Globalinfo.az reports that this was stated by former Foreign Minister Tofiq Zulfugarov.
“First 2031 was announced, and just two days later new dates — 2027 and 2028 — were voiced.
We have already grown used to the prime minister (varchapet), to put it mildly, acting too often ‘hastily and sharply’ for a serious politician and abruptly changing his position. But even for him such a change of dates seemed unusual.
The reason is simple: a slap from Washington did its job, and the prime minister suddenly came to his senses.
Of course, this does not mean that practical preparations for the referendum or the TRIPP project will be accelerated. Pashinyan will continue his tactic of dragging out the process. Because the obligations he has assumed before Moscow and Tehran are of vital importance for his personal political longevity — and not only political, but also in other areas…
For our part, all we can do for now is wait for a suitable opportunity to implement our strategic goals and objectives. Pashinyan’s unsystematic political noise only accelerates the approach of ‘Hour X’ (the decisive moment – ed.),” Tofiq Zulfugarov noted.
