The United States, Britain, France, Germany, Japan, Norway, Estonia, Switzerland and several other countries have called on their populations to prepare for emergency situations – war, internet outages and crisis conditions.
Globalinfo.az reports that governments have issued messages urging citizens to be ready for crisis conditions lasting 3 days in some countries and up to a week in others.
According to the information, people have been advised to stock up on food, water supplies, clothing and energy batteries. In France, the call for preparedness covers a period of around 72 hours, while in the United States this period has been set at 1 week to 30 days.
The succession of such calls from various countries has caused alarm among people worldwide. Even Dan Bongino, former deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, has advised Americans to take the 30-day emergency preparedness warnings seriously.
These calls have been interpreted as preparation for a possible World War III, a global internet shutdown, or some other extraordinary threat.
However, some experts say the current calls should not cause alarm, describing them as standard recommendations. They note that since around 2010, some countries have periodically issued calls for the public to be ready for crises. They say it is simply that growing military confrontation and tension in most regions in recent times has worried governments, prompting them to decide on precautionary measures for the population.
